Our Executive Board

Reed Krewson
he/him/his

Reed is proud to serve as President of the Kansas Young Democrats. A lifelong Kansan and passionate advocate for youth political engagement, Reed has been involved with the Young Democrats since high school-founding chapters and serving in leadership roles at the high school, collegiate, county, and state levels.

His goal as President is to strengthen and expand sustainable Young Democrats infrastructure across Kansas, empowering young leaders to organize, advocate, and run for office in their communities.

Jackson Berticino
he/him/his

Jackson is currently based out of Pittsburg, Kansas. He graduated from Pittsburg State University with a bachelor’s in Political Science and his graduate degree in Human Resource Development. Jackson is deeply involved in political and community organizing and has been for the past decade. He works with the Kansas Democratic Party and the Kansas Young Democrats. He remains active in Democratic politics and local community organizing.

Karsyn Robertson
she/her/hers

Karsyn is a sophomore at The University of Kansas studying exercise science. She is the second vice president of KYD and the chair of the communications committee. Outside of KYD, Karsyn is passionate about working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, working out, and trying new smoothie recipes. Her main goal for KYD is to get younger voters to the polls for more than just the presidential election.

Rebecca Hollister
she/her/hers

Rebecca resides in Leavenworth, Kansas. She began her political career in 2015 when she interned for the Kansas Democratic Party. Since then she has worked on multiple campaigns. In 2018 she was the Campaign Coordinator for House District 40 up until the primary, in 2019 served as a Johnson County Regional Coordinator, and in 2020 managed two state house campaigns in Leavenworth. She also interned for the Democratic National Committee in 2018, assisting with the ASD Puerto Rico Regional Conference.

Rebecca graduated from Georgetown University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy and Mathematics. During her time at Georgetown, she was the President of the Georgetown College Democrats and founding Vice President of the DC College Democrats. She enjoys organization building and youth organizing.

Rebecca currently works in human resources at a local school district. She also owns a small business. When she isn’t campaigning, she loves to read and play with her cats Rainbow and Halo.

Jenna Ghant
she/her/hers

Jenna is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) at Wichita State University. While not in school, she resides in Chicago’s North Shore, where she remains active in local politics in Illinois’ 9th Congressional District. She is a lifelong champion of liberal, Democratic values and is a proud LGBTQI+ ally.

In addition to her role with the Kansas Young Democrats, Jenna serves as Chapter President for the Wichita State Young Democrats. Before her role as President, she served as Communications Director for the Wichita State Young Democrats. Jenna also serves as our Female Delegate for Kansas in the Young Democrats of America.

She is committed to empowering all young Democrats – whether on college campuses, in Kansas’ many rural counties, and in our vibrant cities – with the resources and support they need to build a stronger, fairer, and more inclusive Kansas.

Caleb Newfer

Caleb is a Political Science major at Washburn University in Topeka, KS. He serves as Secretary of the Kansas Young Democrats. He is involved in Democratic politics through youth organizing and local campaigns in Kansas. Caleb’s goal is to help young people take ownership of the political process and make their voices heard, in everything, from school boards to the statehouse.

Alondra Alvarez

Alondra is currently studying Political Science and Spanish at Kansas State University.

This is her first year with Kansas Young Democrats. Her hope for this term is to become a stronger advocate.

Jae Moyer

Jae is an LGBTQ+ rights activist from Overland Park. They have been involved with the Kansas Democratic Party at both the state and local levels, including serving on the Board of the LGBTQ+ Caucus and serving twice as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention in both 2020 and 2024. They also sit as an inaugural member of the Johnson County Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coalition.

Levi Carlson
he/him/his

Levi is a born and raised Wichitan . He became involved in Ngoc Vuong’s school board campaign in 2023 and later worked for the Kansas House Democrats in 2024. He previously served as the Vice President of the Wichita State Young Democrats for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Andrew Le
he/him/his

Andrew, a junior at Kansas State University studying Political Science with a focus on Global Food Systems Leadership and Leadership Studies, serves as the Director of Communications for the K-State Young Democrats. He also serves as a representative to the Big First Congressional District as a Kansas Young Democrats delegate to the Kansas Democratic Party State Committee. He is also an elected Precinct Committee Person for Precinct 225 in Sedgwick County.

Andrew has been involved in Kansas politics for most of his academic career, working with groups like Loud Light. Most recently, he served on the Riley County Coordinated Campaign during the 2024 election cycle.

His passions include expanding voting access, building youth civic engagement, and food security. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, exploring the state, and playing trumpet in the K-State Marching Band.

Daisy “KD” Karimi
she/her/hers

Daisy, “KD”, is originally from Nairobi, Kenya but was raised and politicized in Topeka, KS. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance from Washburn University in 2017.

She spends her free time advocating, and organizing for the disfranchised communities in Shawnee County, KS. She currently serves as the chairperson for the African American Democratic Caucus of Shawnee County and Co-Chair of the Shawnee County Dems PCP Committee.

Internally, she’s a Gemini with love language of music who happened to live at Malia’s (her dogs) house.

Marshall Megellas

Marshall is a recent graduate of Missouri S&T and new resident of Kansas, serving as a Young Democrats of America delegate for Kansas Young Democrats.

He is also highly motivated to advance Democratic policy, as well as transform the messaging around such policy to energize a new generation!
